Hey guys, check out the first draft of my mash-up below! I am really proud of how it has come out so far; however, there are two or three transitions from clip to clip that I think could use some tweaking to make them a little smoother. Also, it is my hope that I was able to get my message across. Please let me know if you have any concerns or suggestions!
In my mash-up, I focus primarily on the influence of the media’s depiction of beauty on female body image. This topic may seem redundant and overworked; how many times have we heard the same argument, right? Well...not necessarily. Let's take a look. When this topic first hit the scene roughly sixty years ago, the motto was “thin is in.” Curvier bodies such as Marilyn Monroe’s were less celebrated, the emphasis shifting instead to skinnier women like Twiggy. Both women are beautiful to my eyes; however, Twiggy's slim body became the catalyst to a new emphasis on weight in defining female beauty. Due both in part to this societal pressure and personal insecurity, women felt a need to adjust their bodies and, for many, this required losing weight fast.
Hey guys!
Here is the link to my storyboard. Hope you enjoy, I'm really proud of it! The story board is set up in the order that the videos will appear in my mash-up. With this story board, I have effectively outlined my mash-up as I would an academic paper. From this point, I will begin working on putting the video together and making sure each shot switches seamlessly into the other. Any comments and suggestions, feel free to post them in the comments section! Hey guys! Here is a link to my proposal.
Any questions, concerns, suggestions are completely welcome! Also, if you can think of any academic-based videos you have watched concerning my topic please let me know! |
